You hear the the terms ’sustainable fashion’ and ‘eco-fashion’ quite a bit these days, but are they both one and the same? The short answer to this query is yes they are.

But sustainable fashion  goes beyond being eco-friendly, it is meant to be a fashion in which the Earth itself can produce for many seasons to come without the need for harsh chemicals and additives. While that is also true of eco-fashion, some eco-fashion is merely a popular fashion in disguise.

Creating a sustainable fashion however, means creating one that will be around for many years regardless of what the current fashion world is dictating. For whatever reason, eco-fashion seems to be all the rage at the moment. Perhaps it is because there are so many Hollywood stars and starlets opening eco-friendly fashion boutiques. Perhaps it is the fact that the world will not last if not taken care of and people are beginning to realize this fact.

Whatever the case may be if this trend in eco-fashion fades away, anything that is a sustainable fashion that was created in the meantime will likely not. So while it is nice to have eco-fashions be all the rage now, we should be focused on sustainable fashions as well which will stand the test of time.
