There has been a lot of action this past year with the green movement and this is a good thing.

There has been a lot of action this past year with the green movement and this is a good thing. By thinking green, the world is actually paving the way to gold living in that the Earth will be around for a much longer time and will be a much happier planet as a result.

When you choose to buy eco-friendly fashion instead of traditional clothing, you are making a conscience decision to better this planet. Why? When we take raw materials from the Earth to make all the fancy styles and then add chemical processing and the like into the mix, we may be making ourselves temporarily happy, but we aren’t making Mother Earth smile one bit.

If we do not think and act in a green manner then we will hardly be our way onto the golden path in life. The Earth only has so many resources to give and when they are all depleted we can forget about anything gold and instead have black days to look forward to.

The excuses are gone. It is too easy to be green these days, especially with fashion. For everything that is synthetically produced, such as cotton and wool, there is an eco-friendly counterpart, such as organic cotton and organic wool. So really it all boils down to our own personal choices.

Hopefully the world will continue the green walk because in the end it leads to the roads that are paved in gold. Think Green!

Every kid loves a nice cool Capri Sun when they have worked up a thirst, but did you know that you can now sell those empty pouches or use them to make some really cool things? Yes, recycling, or rather upcycling, Capri Sun pouches is now all the rage and this is indeed evident by simply checking online to see the numerous empty pouches that are being sold.

Places like eBay and other online retailers are selling these shiny pouches in droves… why? The reason is simple; they can be turned into some really cool eco-friendly accessories. Many designers are using the empty pouches to create handbags, others backpacks. There are even those who are now creating full-length dresses from them.

This creates a unique opportunity for you to sell your old pouches or create some eco-friendly fashion with them if you have a good imagination. Either way your Capri Sun pouches can have a life after they have quenched your thirst. While you may not think of them as a fabric such as organic cotton or eco-silk, they are in fact very Earth savvy and make some really cool designs to boot.

So which will it be? Will you sell your emply Capri Sun pouches and gather up a little extra cash, or will you make a cool pencil holder you of them? In the end it is up to you, but whatever you do…don’t throw them away!

Timberland, which is known for its rough outdoor apparel, is starting to be known for its green apparel as well. According to the company, their Earthkeepers product line is growing by leaps and bounds and has seen a 300 percent increase year over year.

Perhaps this is due to many people in the world becoming more eco-friendly. Really, it seems that more and more people are beginning to realize that the Earth has only so many resources to give and instead of buying products that have drained many of these precious resources, there are eco-friendly fashion alternatives that are just as good if not better.

In the case of Timberland’s eco-friendly line for example, many of the boots have a sole made up of primarily recycled rubber. This means that the quality is there, without using a lot of extra resources. Now Timberland finds itself on the top of the Eco Index, with companies like Nike, thanks to a product line that is a mere three years old.

As time passes, you will begin to see more of the big names in fashion throw their hats into the green ring and for good reason. At the end if the day it is all about giving the consumers what they want, and these days they want everything green.

However, this year, it could be all about the GREEN.

While there are bound to be many great deals regardless of what you are looking for, remember that the eco-friendly fashion world is also taking center stage this year.

So, it makes sense that you will be able to get a hold of these eco-items at a great discount when you head out for Black Friday trip in 2010.

Yes, it seems that green is here to stay and this year’s biggest sales event will prove it. Make your list now for all those on your ‘green screen’ and when you head out for your Black Friday adventure this year, be sure to do some investigating to find all the great eco-savvy deals that await you.

USAgain is a form profit company that is changing the way in which people get rid of clothing. Instead of throwing their old clothing in the trash were it would inevitable end up in a landfill, this eco-friendly company has come up with a way for anyone to recycle their old garments.

All across the country USAgain has huge drop off boxes set up were you can easily discard your unwanted clothing. Then you can rest easy knowing that the items will be collected and then sold to thrift stores or to wholesalers who will in turn re-use or re-sell the items. This eco-friendly approach means a reduction in the US’s carbon footprint as well as a total savings of the Earth’s precious resources.

Perhaps the best part is that the items you donate will end up being sold for a very inexpensive price to those who are less fortunate and may not have enough money to buy new clothing. So, your closet gets less cluttered, the landfills get saved from millions of pounds of clothing each year, and the Earth gets to keep more of its resources. It really is an ‘everybody wins’ scenario.

If you have a funky hair due and you want, or need, it to stay in pace at all times, then chances are you are using hairspray. However, we all know how bad hairspray can be for the environment, but what are the alternatives? Courtesy of Planet Green, you can go for eco-friendly hairspray made from fruits.

All you need is a spray bottle, an orange or a lemon, some water, and a pot. First you take the fruit of choice and cut it into wedges. Then you combine the wedges with two cups of water, put it all in the pot and bring to a boil. Let the mixture boil until about half of the water has boiled away and then remove from the heat.

All that is left to do after that is to let the concoction cool. Then poor it into your spray bottle and viola; you have eco-friendly hairspray. Now you can keep your hair looking eco-savvy with all your eco-friendly fashions like a nice shirt made from bamboo fibers.

If you find that the home made hairspray is too sticky, simply add a little bit of water. If you keep it refrigerated, it should last you a good week.

For those who just think Amazon.com is for books, guess again. The huge online retailer now offers everything from cell phones to lap tops and even has a great selection of eco-friendly fashions.

The great thing about Amazon.com is that you can decide if you want to buy new eco-friendly fashions, such as organic cotton clothing, hemp clothing, eco-silk clothing and the like, or if you want to buy used, regular clothing. While you may not think that buying clothing made from traditional materials is eco-friendly, remember that if no new resources are used, then it is indeed eco-friendly. This is the case when you buy used.

The best side effect that is associated with Amazon.com though is the great prices you pay for the garments you want. Membership is free and the more you buy, generally the more you save on shipping and handling fees.

So, if you are in the market for a new wardrobe and you want to be green about it, then check out all that Amazon.com has to offer. Be warned though, once that little box arrives and you see the great deal you got the first time, it will be hard to stay away.

Being green is an all-year thing, but there is a way that you can especially accomplish the feat while in the month of October. Halloween is almost upon us and there is an easy and fun way to make this October a Happy HallowGREEN.

Being green is an all-year thing, but there is a way that you can especially accomplish the feat while in the month of October. Halloween is almost upon us and there is an easy and fun way to make this October a Happy HallowGREEN.

Really, it couldn’t be easier. If you have kids then you no doubt have a costume, or two or three, that they may have only worn once, but they either no longer fit into it, or they just don’t want to wear it again. At first blush this may seem like a waste, but only if you think of it as so.

Now, imagine how many of your friends have similar situations with their kids. Hmmm…I’m thinking swap party! Just as you can do in the beginning of the school year, you can do the same for Halloween.

Trade costumes with your friends and before you know it, everyone in your family is taken care of and best of all you saved some money and helped save the planet. Why? Since there are no new resources being wasted, then the planet gets to keep everything it has.

This Halloween, instead of focusing on costumes made of organic cotton and hemp, trade what you have. This eco-friendly fashion tip is one that saves green for the planet and for you.

It seems that more and more of fashion's bigger names are coming over to the eco-friendly side of fashion and now you can add Haggar Clothing Company Haggar pants, which have always been known for style and comfort, can now also be known for being eco-friendly.

It seems that more and more of fashion’s bigger names are coming over to the eco-friendly side of fashion and now you can add Haggar Clothing Company to that list. Haggar pants, which have always been known for style and comfort, can now also now be known for being eco-friendly.

Forming a partnership with Unifi, Haggar will introduce its latest line of green pants using Repreve recycled fibers. Among the new styles that will be made available, there will be Repreve Eco-Cargo, Repreve Renew Chino, Repreve Premium Twill, and Repreve Smart Fiber Dress Pant.

Perhaps the best part about this exciting news is that you can find Haggar pants at a wide variety of popular retailers. JC Penney, Macy’s, and Belk are among the top three, but the list of retailers carrying the popular men’s pants is much longer making it simple to get in on the new line of eco-savvy pants.

Now it will not only be easier to dress in an eco-friendly way, but it will also be easier to find the eco-friendly fashions you want. As the trend is showing, eco-fashion is the in-fashion and there doesn’t seem to be any signs of this trend changing any time soon.
