Eco peko: Organic fashion for kids
Eco peko are passionate about producing beautiful childrens clothing made from sustainable fabrics and recycled products.
They are an Australian, family run business committed to sustainability, recycling, non-chemical alternatives and practicing fair trade.
Their Introductory Range is made from 100% Certified Organic Cotton and their Summer 2008 launch included a collection made from a beautiful flowing bamboo fabric.
Their cotton clothing is made from 100% Control Union (formally SKAL) certified, organic cotton - the purest and most natural cotton available - while their 100% bamboo fibre clothing is naturally antibacterial and has UV ray protection.
Bamboo fibre’s superior absorption and breathability makes fabric which is extremely soft, comfortable and cool and is perfect for sensitive or allergy prone skin.
Eco peko’s CEO, Justine Davis says:
“Being a passionate advocate of organics and a natural way of life made us move from our City central address to the very green hills of Roleystone. We love living amongst the trees and growing our own food.
With my smallest child in a portable cot at the back of my stall, I screen printed designs onto t-shirts for bubs and sold them at the Kalamunda markets. I then went searching for organic cotton and eco peko was born!”
Eco peko use natural and organic materials wherever possible, even down to labeling and their dyeing processes are eco-friendly, using low impact, AZO free and heavy metal free dyeing and their production meets standards for processing using organic methods and holds EKO certification.
