The actress who has made a name for herself in the hit movie Harry Potter is coming out with her own eco-friendly fashion line called ‘The People Tree.’ Emma Watson plans on launching the new green label in early 2010 and will do so in conjunction with People Tree.

The new eco-friendly clothing line will be made from 100 percent Fairtrade Certified Cotton which is made by hand from fare trade people by hand weaving, hand knitting, and even hand embroidery. This will in turn create a number of good jobs for many of the impoverished people of India, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

Like many of her Hollywood counterparts, Watson is increasingly aware of the many issues that the typical ‘fast fashion’ bring and she wants to do her part to try to make the world a better place.

EcoZeal.com commends the young actress and hopes that her new green line will be an overwhelming success.  Hopefully more young Hollywood stars will follow her lead and begin to take a more active role in the direction our planet is headed.
