Fake organic clothing rears its ugly head

How do you know when a fashion is hitting full stride? A good indication is when others come out and copy them or put out fake designs. Well eco-fashion is now apparently gaining so much popularity those stores wants to be able to carry the eco-friendly products on their selves. However, you can’t just say something is eco-friendly if it is not.
Such is the case right now overseas with two companies; H&M and C&A. According to several consumer groups in Germany, the two companies are advertising some of their fashions as being made with organic cotton, but the garments in question are supposedly actually made with genetically modified cotton…..hmmmm. I’m no expert but anything that is organic is all natural and thus cannot be ‘modified.’
The fashion chains say that they will look into the allegations but this really begs the question how organic and green are the organic items the stores are carrying? In some ways it is a compliment that people will actually lie about the content of clothing to make it more appealing to a buyer, but in the end it defeats the purpose of the organic movement.
EcoZeal.com reminds all eco-savvy shoppers to be sure to check the tags of the eco-friendly fashion you want to purchase and check them closely. Being green is great, but being duped is not, so be aware.
