Okay, so you've swapped out all your old non-Earth savvy cloths for eco-friendly fashions that can't be beat. Good start. Now let's look at getting eco-friendly while you wash those eco-friendly fashions.

Okay, so you’ve swapped out all your old non-Earth savvy clothes for eco-friendly fashions that can’t be beat. Good start. Now let’s look at getting eco-friendly while you wash those eco-friendly fashions.

Now this post is not aimed at telling you to wash all your clothes with a washboard or by banging them on a stone, but there is a coupe of things that you can do that will greatly save on energy and thus be a more eco-friendly way to go about washing your eco-fashion. This actually has to do with the washing and drying, but we’ll start with the washing first.

When you wash your clothes you can save bookoo energy by doing so in cold water instead of hot water. Now most people have been programed to wash their whites in hot water, but the fact is that they will get just as clen in the cold.

You can also save tons of energy when you cut the use of your dryer. For every load that you do in your dryer, it is like lighting 60, 100 Watt light bulbs for the time that you dry your clothes. This can be reduced if you just dry your clothes a little bit less, time wise. You can also hang your clothes to dry on a clothesline and save even more energy, plus get that fresh outdoors smell.

EcoZeal.com wants everyone to think before they do their next load of eco-friendly laundry. If not for yourself, think for the future of the planet.

It used to be that when you wanted to insult someone just because they had a sense of eco-friendly fashion, you would call them a tree hugger. The term used to be a derogatory remark, but now many are proud to be tree huggers.

In fact, there is even a website with that very same name. Tree huggers of today are happy to be so because they are in a club that is not so exclusive anymore; the green club. In recent years the green movement has taken flight and is now reaching epic proportions.

EcoZeal.com simply can’t believe the chance in the way people think. Not so long ago, people were ridiculed because they wanted to wear eco-friendly fabrics such as hemp, organic cotton, eco-silk, and the like. Now these same people are blazing a path to becoming richeous. Funny how times chance, isn’t it?

So go ahead, call me a tree hugger, I don’t mind. In fact, these days, I will take it as a compliment with great pride and so to will countless others. In these times of self and world preservation, if you are not a tree hugger, you are the outcast, not the other way around.

The Joseph Palmer Chop Flops take something old and upcylce them into something new. Though you may not think ot if, old chopsticks make for a great pair of authentic and traditional looking ‘Chop Flops.’ These comfortable and sustainable flip flops feature everything used.

The bamboo parts are of course from the old chopsticks, the straps from an old leather bag and the cork from a salvaged cork board. that means that the design is 100 percent upcycled!

EcoZeal.com is crazy about these unique and totally eco-friendly flip flo[ps and hopes that the Chop Flops are a smashing success. It isn’t said for sure if they are going to go into full production or only going to be made available upon request. one thing is for sure, if they do come out in full force, they are more than likely going to be a hot seller.

While the design is great, let’s just hope that you don’t get the end that was in someone’s mouth, on your feet. I’m kidding of course, as the Chop Flops are 100 percent sanitary and ready to wear. It just goes to show you what a little imagination can do when it comes to eco-friendly fashion.

Okay, this story is a bit older, but when I came across it, I just had to share. It took her 117 empty pouches and over three weeks, but teen Kelly Sacho was able to craft her own prom dress out of empty Capri Sun pouches.

While the dress came out simply stunning, it was her first ever design. She and a friend drank all of the juice out of the pouches, she made a form, and then says she just started gluing. She basically went with her gut on the eco-friendly design, which was also her end of the year school project and the work speaks for itself. It just goes to show what you can do when you put your mind to good use.

This is one of the coolest cases of going green that EcoZeal.com has ever seen. Hopefully more young teens will put their minds to work for the good of the environment and all mankind.

As for Kelly, hopefully she got an A on the project and hopefully she got the prom of her dreams. Way to go Kelly!!

To read more on this story and see pictures and a slide show of this one of a kind prom dress, please click here.

Fashion guru Polo Ralph Lauren have recently released a line of socks that are a bit more eco-friendly than they usually put out. The ribbed socks are made of a bamboo blend and are said to be extremely comfortable.

Fashion guru Polo Ralph Lauren have recently released a line of socks that are a bit more eco-friendly than they usually put out. The ribbed socks are made of a bamboo blend and are said to be extremely comfortable.

The socks are anti-microba,l as all garments made of bamboo fibers are, machine washable, and while they are only a bamboo blend, they are predominantly bamboo to the tune of 58 percent. The reason that Polo Ralph Lauren decided to go more on the green side was not said, but I have a sneaking suspicion that all of us that are on the green path are finally being heard. Polo Ralph Lauren knows that in order to sell to the eco-savvy, they have to act in an eco-friendly way, these socks are a good start.

The socks sell fro around $21 for a three pair pack, which isn’t really all that much for the brand. Hopefully Polo Ralph Lauren will come out with socks in the future that are all organic and perhaps made of 100 percent bamboo. If they do, you can rest assured that EcoZeal.com will cover it and I will report it.

Check out these cool looking bamboo socks that come in black or white here.

Books are still a staple of the Amazon selling diet and just as with anything else on Amazon, you can now find a wide variety of sustainable fashion books.

The nice thing about buying your eco-friendly fashion books from Amazon is that you have a chance to see what others have put down as a review. These reviews are not from experts, but rather from everyday people like you and I, so you can get a true feel for how the book should be.

Another nice feature with Amazon is that for every new book on sustainable fashion that you find, you can almost always find a much cheaper, pre-owned version of the same book. This makes it possible to get all your favorite sustainable fashion titles at a fraction of the cover price.

EcoZeal.comhopes that everyone will take some time to check out the vast selection of sustainable fashion books that Amazon carries on a daily basis. Go ahead, stop on by, you never know what you might find, especially in the way of books.

When the summer weather gets to be too much for anyone to handle, how do you think it affects those of us with really long hair. As the summer heats up another thing on women also goes up; their hair.

When the summer weather gets to be too much for anyone to handle, how do you think it affects those of us with really long hair. As the summer heats up another thing on women also goes up; their hair.

Now it is possible to put your hair up with a new line of eco-friendly hair bands that can be found by browsing on the People Tree website. These new and innovative hair bands are made of 100 percent recycled elastic material and kill two birds with one stone. They will not only keep your hair off your neck, but they will also do so in a very eco-friendly fashion way.

EcoZeal.com thinks this green way of beating the summer heat is awesome. Too many times there are accessories that women wear that go on without consideration of how sustainable or eco-friendly they are. Hair bands are the perfect example as you can be the most eco-savvy person on your block, but neglect what seems to be a mundane detail like a hair band. Now you can beat the heat and wear up your hair, but still be good to the environment. After all, isn’t going green worth going all the way for?

Check out these cool new eco-freindly hair bands here.

You hear it all the time, "Going green is so in." But why is the green movement the new and hip thing to do?

You hear it all the time, “Going green is so in.” But why is the green movement the new and hip thing to do?

Maybe it is because there are so many famous starts that grace the Red Carpet who are taking a green stand. Maybe it is because there is a number of green boutiques and shops opening up in what seems like every corner of the Earth. Then again, maybe we as people are just seeing the error of our past ways.

For too long now we have all ignored the warning signs and now we have to focus on our carbon footprints and how much recyclable materials we place at the curb once a week. Really, whatever gains momentum for the green movement is fine by me, but the reason it has become so hip to be green is that everyone is doing it.

EcoZeal.com loves the fact that this trend has caught on and is thrilled that sales of organic cotton, hemp, eco-silk, and the like are hitting all time highs. Hopefully, the trend will continue for some time and will not peak until the world is a much better and healthier planet to live on. Keep thinking GREEN…each and everyday. After all, its the new and hip thing to do!

Three moms have recently turned their idea on how to recycle, or rather upcylce, their kid’s old clothing into new clothing for others into a full tme business that has now hit the mainstream. The company called Mpenzi was started by Lynda Martin, Donna Hawks, and Hannah White and these seamstresses take old worn out fabrics and make all new designs with them.

The three have put the word out to all who have older clothing that is no longer wearable by their kids to send in what they have. They then make clothing specifically designed to fit kids from six months old all the way up to eight years old. Their way of making clothing is the most eco-friendly in the world as there are no new resources being used, save some thread.

EcoZeal.comthinks the idea is a great one and loves to see such innovation. See how we can all make a difference when we put our green thinking caps on? Mpenzi is a fabulous idea and I hope that there will be more green innovators in the future that put their ideas to work not only for themselves, but for the planet that we all live on as well.

What do you do with your kid's clothing from last year? They can't use the items anymore because they have grown, but that doesn't mean that someone else can't use them.

What do you do with your kid’s clothing from last year? They can’t use the items anymore because they have grown, but that doesn’t mean that someone else can’t use them.

In fact, you can make a good little bit of green by being green and gathering up all of your children’s clothing that are too small and selling them to others. Places such as Craigslist and eBay are the perfect outlets to unload some older clothes and make some money in the process.

Of course you want to be sure that the clothes are still in good shape. Even if they aren’t, don’t throw them out. You can always upcycle the tattered pieces of clothing and make rags. Either way, give your kid’s old clothing new life.

EcoZeal.com hopes that all who read this will take the time to actually go through their kid’s old clothes and try to make a little bit of money for themselves. While it is not the same eco-friendly fashion sense as buying eco-silk or organic cotton, it is still eco-friendly. And in today’s world, who couldn’t use a couple extra bucks? Keep the green movement moving forward and never waste if you don’t have to.
