The founder of Tierra Ideas, Matthew Mahler is from Raleigh, North Carolina and he uses the recycled inner tubes of tires to make his unique creations. The end result is a one of a kind eco-friendly fashion bag that looks every bit as good as its ‘skin bag’ counterparts. The best part is that there are no alligators or snakes harmed in the process.

Besides being made of non-animal skins, the bags are also helping to recycle the inside, or tubes, of tires that would otherwise just be discarded. It just goes to show what a little imagination and innovation can do.

But the innovative green designer is not stopping with his recycled rubber messenger or bike bags and is currently trying to strike a deal with several airlines to get their used seat coverings in order to fashion eco-friendly computer bags. EcoZeal.com hopes that more creative people will come out of the woodworks and join Mahler in his quest to make the Earth just a little more eco-friendly.
