Profile on Certified Jeans
If you’re a purist when it comes to organic jeans, then Seattle-based Certified Jeans is a definite denim stop.
Certified’s jeans were developed to provide the world with a jean made from organic cotton and the result is their World Protector / Body Protector jeans.
“The company’s design philosophy is to provide functional and comfortable jeans in traditional ‘basic’ jeans styles,” said Dave Davidson, Sales Manager.
Dating back to the early days of the Internet, their jeans grew out of a line started in 1995 in Seattle. The original jeans were made from natural organic cotton and some were tea dyed as another color option.
All Certified Jeans are made from 100% organic cotton grown without chemicals in the USA, because they are concerned that toxic chemicals used in conventional cotton production cause ecological damage and are responsible for the decline and mortality of birds and other wildlife in treated areas.
Certified don’t sell their Jeans in suburban malls either because they believe shopping malls are a primary generator of residential and commercial sprawl and often are responsible for losses of wetlands, natural habitat and agricultural land.
Currently their jeans are made in a variety of fabrics and colors including basic, stone-washed and indigo dyed denim, and at the moment you get a free pair when you purchase seven – one for each day of the week.
