‘Puzzling’ new fashion means zero waste
Two Dutch fashion designers have come out with a new approach to eco-friendly fashion in which there will be zero waste and clothing will be interchangeable and go together in a similar fashion to Lego’s. This new eco-friendly fashion trend is called ‘fragmenting’ and uses click/fold assembly to allow you to create and re-create your fashion in an almost unlimited number of ways.
Fioen van Balgooi and Berber Soepboer are the two masterminds behind this new fashion and are currently launching what they call their Refinity Collection. The Refinity Collection will feature a square pattern dress and a star pattern skirt that will have multiple pieces that can be pieced together by utilizing a small slice in the wool of the fabrics. This experimental idea came about as the two designers wanted to create a fashion where every inch of the textiles that where being used went into the fashion - no waste.
This green puzzle approach makes for some of the most interesting and unique looking designs as it is you the wearer who decides how the clothing will ultimatley look. EcoZeal.com is excited to see such innovation and hopes that others will come out with a way to utilize more of the materials needed to put clothing together.
We only have so many resources here on Earth so we have to be sure to use them not only wisley, but sparingly as well.
