Call me crazy but when I was a kid it was called getting a hand-me-down. Now though it seems that some pretty green savvy shops in California and in a smattering of other states across the US have decided that recycled is the style.

Okay, so isn’t this just a bunch of second hand stores or thrift stores? Quite the contrary according to those smack dab in the middle of the eco-friendly fashion movement. These clothes while they have been worn before may or may not have been in style when they were. But rest assured now that they are as it is not only the new in-thing to wear throw-back styles, but it is also getting cooler and cooler to be eco-friendly.

Forget organic cotton, hemp, organic silk, and the like. These clothes may have use some resources in the past, but they are not using ANY now. How can you get more eco-friendly than that?

EcoZeal.com thinks that these clothing recycling shops are a great idea and will allow for new generations to enjoy what perhaps a past generation did not. As for the hand-me-downs; well if you still participate in that with your family you may just be the coolest person in the fold.
