Summer time means - reuse your jeans
Upcycling is the practice of taking something that is no longer of any value to you and making it into something new. Because it is summer time now, I thought I would share a favorite among upcyclists across America; upcycling your jeans.
This one is reallya no-brainer and in order to conduct this eco-friendly exercise all you need is an old pair of blue jeans and a pair of scissors. Once you have these two ingredients you are ready to begin.
Simply cut your long-legged jeans as short as you like and - boom - you now have jean shorts. These jean shorts are a great cover up for you to wear to and from the beach or pool and best of all they give a little more life to your otherwise wasted jeans.
You can even get creative with the leftover material and sew one end to make a great storage bag for your plastic grocery bags. When it gets full take all the bags into your local grocery store and recycle them.
EcoZeal.com hopes that everyone will do their parts this summer to stay cool and to stay green. When you use your imagination and give new life to old clothes you will be doing your part for this great planet on which we all live.
