Three upcycling ideas for t-shirts
A few posts ago I wrote about the concept of upcycling as an alternative to throwing away your unwanted clothes. Since then I have been racking my brain and reading lots of information all in an effort to bring you some cool ideas on the eco-friendly fashion way of upcycling.
Here are three ideas that will get your feet wet and help you stay green in the process:
- Make Rags: When your t-shirts have had enough, give them a little more life by making rags out of them. This will not only stretch the life of your old t-shirts but it will also save some paper towels which in turn will save some trees.
- Make workout shirts: This is as easy as cutting the sleeves of an old t-shirt off evenly on both sides. The end result will be a new shirt for you to workout in that you mind getting all sweaty. Use the left over sleeves as, you guessed it, more rags.
- Have a t-shirt party: This is great if you have kids. Get all their old t-shirts and have a t-shirt party. This is where you will need a needle, thread, scissors, and your imagination. This is so much fun and kids end up with a true one of a kind fashionable shirt when it is all said and done. Of course save those scraps for rags!
This is just a sampling of the wonderful world of upclying and EcoZeal.comwill stay on the lookout and continue to bring you new and innovative ways to upcycle your old clothing, so stay tuned!
