What is eco cashmere? Really it is not too dissimilar to many other eco-friendly fashion materials such as eco-wool, organic cotton, and other such Earth safe goodies.

As you probably already know, cashmere comes form the cashmere goat - makes sence. But many cashmere goat farmers raise these goats in less than desirable conditions and feed the goats all kinds of nasty foods in order to get the goat’s fur to grow faster and thus produce more cashmere. Not so with eco cashmere.

With eco cashmere farmers, the goats are allowed to run free-range with no restrictions and when it does come time for them to donate their fur, it is done the old fashion way, by hand, and no goat is harmed.  And , because the goats are not restricted to where they can roam, they are also then allowed to eat all naturally as they are intended to.

EcoZeal.com hopes that all you cashmere lovers out there will seek out eco cashmere as an alternative so that you can still enjoy the plushness and poshness of cashmere and do so with a clean conscience.  They may only be goats, but they are giving their fur to keep us warm and looking good, so let’s reward them with a clean living.
