Why being a “tree hugger” isn’t so bad anymore
It used to be that when you wanted to insult someone just because they had a sense of eco-friendly fashion, you would call them a tree hugger. The term used to be a derogatory remark, but now many are proud to be tree huggers.
In fact, there is even a website with that very same name. Tree huggers of today are happy to be so because they are in a club that is not so exclusive anymore; the green club. In recent years the green movement has taken flight and is now reaching epic proportions.
EcoZeal.com simply can’t believe the chance in the way people think. Not so long ago, people were ridiculed because they wanted to wear eco-friendly fabrics such as hemp, organic cotton, eco-silk, and the like. Now these same people are blazing a path to becoming richeous. Funny how times chance, isn’t it?
So go ahead, call me a tree hugger, I don’t mind. In fact, these days, I will take it as a compliment with great pride and so to will countless others. In these times of self and world preservation, if you are not a tree hugger, you are the outcast, not the other way around.
